Our research focuses on understanding how adolescents and young adults navigate social structures and the implications of these structures for personality and identity.
We are especially interested in understanding variations in how young adults narrate experiences about structural domains, including race, ethnicity, gender, social class, and nationality, and how features of these narratives are interconnected.
Another goal of our lab is to examine how differences in how the way young people make sense of their experiences with culture and society correspond with their psychosocial functioning and understanding of themselves over time.
The overarching goal of our research is to reveal how systems of power guide and constrain personality and to identify ways to empower young people to resist inequitable societal norms.
We invite you to explore our work, learn more about our ongoing projects, and connect with us as we strive to reveal and challenge the social structures that impact our lives.
